Collaboration

Hong Liu is a professor of physics at MIT, specializing in theoretical physics at the intersection of quantum field theory, quantum gravity, and quantum information. He is not a direct collaborator of Marcelo’s group, but his work is a key reference for the quantum information program. His major review “Lectures on entanglement, von Neumann algebras, and emergence of spacetime” (arXiv:2510.07017, 2025) provides foundational context for type III₁ von Neumann algebras, Tomita-Takesaki modular theory, Araki-Uhlmann relative entropy, and the crossed product construction --- all central to Marcelo’s Bell inequality and relative entropy programs.

Joint Work

No joint publications. The relationship is that of a key reference author whose review work provides the algebraic and gravitational context for the quantum information tools Marcelo’s group applies in flat-space QFT.
