Statement
Problem 2.4 of Goto et al.: since AdS/CFT is expected to hold beyond the infinite- limit, are there information-processing tasks whose performance is enhanced or degraded by genuinely quantum-gravitational (, stringy) effects — as opposed to semiclassical ones?
Why It Matters
Peripheral to the group’s programs, which live in the semiclassical / free-field regime. It is included for completeness of the paper’s Theme 1 and as a marker of where “beyond semiclassical” would take the group’s operational questions.
What We Know
- Most holographic-QI results (RT, QES, Page curve) are leading-order in (semiclassical).
- Candidate genuinely-quantum-gravity effects: non-perturbative saddles, doubly non-perturbative corrections, stringy modifications of scrambling.
Possible Approaches
- Look for tasks whose optimal rate changes at subleading order in .
- Use soluble models (double-scaled SYK, JT) where finite- bulk Hilbert spaces are accessible.
