Overview
CBPF — Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas (Brazilian Center for Physics Research) — is a federal research institute located in Rio de Janeiro, under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (MCTI). It is one of Brazil’s leading theoretical and experimental physics research centers, with a long history in quantum field theory, particle physics, and quantum information.
The collaboration between the UERJ group and CBPF centers on the quantum information program launched in 2023, through the presence of itzhak-roditi, who is the institutional bridge between CBPF and uerj.
Researchers
- itzhak-roditi — key collaborator in the quantum information program; 14 joint papers in the 2023–2026 period.
Research Focus
The CBPF connection is concentrated in the quantum information program:
- Bell inequalities in QFT: joint work on Bell-CHSH violations using Weyl operators, Tomita-Takesaki modular theory, and Rindler wedge localization.
- Relative entropy: computation of Araki-Uhlmann relative entropy between excited states and the vacuum.
- Weyl operators in QFT: algebraic formalism for constructing dichotomic observables in causally separated regions.
CBPF’s broader research traditions in quantum field theory provide a natural environment for this collaboration with the uerj group.
